Before getting your tattoo, consider this...

|

The Tattoo, an ancient form of art that has since evolved into a cultural explosion, has its share of dangers- just like any other activity that permanently affects your body.

The recent explosion of tattoo removal clinics worldwide is due to the regrets and changing lifestyles of the last generation- a simple google.com search for "tattoo removal" turns up over 1,630,000 hits! This is definitely a cause for pause and careful consideration, before you jump into your favorite tattoo artist's chair. there is a REASON that so many tattoo removal businesses are growing exponentially!

Tattoo removal is certainly possible, but it is a Painful and Expensive process- and for the most part, some trace of the tattoo will always remain- be it scarred skin or permanent discoloration of the affected area. Before you get your lover's or your favorite band's name tattooed on your body, take a hard look at what you plan on doing with your life. If you're planning on getting a tattoo just because its the popular thing to do at the moment, my only advice to you is to look up some of the possible aftereffects of tattoo removal, and what a tattoo has the possibility of looking like after 30-40 years.

On the other hand, if you have a valid reason to get a tattoo (no, the girl/guy you met last night does NOT count as a valid reason- I cant stress that enough.) Then by all means, don't look back! Tattoos are a great way to immortalize those you love or lost, and the symbols and designs can certainly take on a life of their own. A good artist, who tattoos a good design for a good reason, can give you something unique that you can be proud of for the rest of your life!
